Some special promotions for March

After having so much fun with Black History Month--we ran a Name that Event contest, which kids really got into, I have decided to continue the fun for the month of March. We will be running two promotions with a big display. Our big display is about books that have been or are going to be made into movies. Most of them are YA, but we have a few adult titles that our students also read. I will post pictures when it is finished. A big shout out to my aide Carol McMullin, who has worked hard to make our displays really wonderful. The two promotions are about Women's History Month and the Academy Awards. We will have a trivia question each day of the month. For every week except Oscar week, the questions will be about Women's History. During Oscar Week, all the questions will have to do with women and the Oscars. Each student will have their name put into a drawing for every question they answer correctly. The general Women's History questions will go into one pot and the Oscar questions into another. The prize for the Women's History will be a Barnes and Noble gift card, and we have a movie night pack to give away for the Oscar questions. This should be fun. What are you doing for March?

For the month of March, FHS will be focusing on Teen Tech Week with students events all that week. Some of the events include: guess 'tweets from famous people' and win a prize, create your own avatar, increase your Googleness level with new Google Tools as well as demos of the Kindle and Nook ereaders.
