I had previously written a five part series about the Myth of the Digital Native.
Part 1: The initial post with outline
Part 2: Assumptions
Part 3: Multitasking
Part 4: Why remember something when we can look it up?
Part 5: So what?
This month the printed version was published in School Library Connection's (formerly Library Media Connection) debut issue. I am honored to appear in print.
In July, I moved unexpectedly and had to change libraries, so my plan to use the action research project to build a series of digital literacy online modules is on hold. I hope to be able to incorporate this work into my new school library program.
In November, I will be giving a presentation based on this article and the blog series at the Community College Humanities Association in Phoenix. I am looking forward to hearing the discussion there. Hopefully, it will yield helpful fruit for teachers and librarians at all levels.
