OK--I finally started twittering!

After thinking about it for a while...and then for a while longer...trying to see the value of it...I finally decided to try Twittering. I have to admit that I was not completely sold on it at first. I am still not completely sold on it. However, I also have to admit that I have already gotten two really great pieces of information (courtesy of Joyce Valenza whose blog is on my blog roll down the page and who is my personal library heroine--sorry Doug) to share with my teachers from using it. I also found out that Lisa McMann (author of Wake and Fade) is an Apple user. Not earth shattering, but, oh well. Oh by the way, John Green posts dirty jokes. Are we surprised?

Wait, I am getting off task. Easy to do with social networking applications. The bottom line is this. It may not be for everyone, but it does have some practical uses. The posts are short and to the point. You can see what authors or librarians are up to. You can get fast tips about websites, new books, whatever your little heart desires. As it says on the Twitter Etiquette page (also found via twitter btw), if you decide you don't want to follow someone, just stop. It doesn't have to rule your life, you rule your life.
