Have you ever noticed that there are many different styles for attending a conference? I recently had the opportunity to attend the Texas Library Association's Annual Conference and I saw many different types of attendees. First, there is the "session hopper." This is the style of my first library mentor. She is a pro at slipping in and out of sessions, seeing the beginning of some, the end of others. I always joke that no one can get more sessions in at a conference than she can. She truly sees the most she possibly can. Then there are the "organized attendees." These are the people who make out a schedule for themselves before they leave, including session titles, times, and if possible room numbers. The organized want to make sure they plan a time for every thing, and have every moment planned. It cuts down on stress. Another category are the "groupies." These are the people who go to sessions where their favorite authors or speakers are. It doesn't matter what they are talking about, if that person is there, the groupies will also be there. Lastly, there are the "partiers." Enough said about that. Which group do you fit into?
